Representative for Louisiana's 3rd congressional district from 2005 to 2017.
The district, numbered as the 7th District from 2005 to 2013, is located in the southwestern portion of the state and includes Lafayette and Lake Charles.
He is a member of the Republican Party.
Boustany stepped down from the U.S.
House in January 2017; he was a candidate for the United States Senate in 2016 in a bid to succeed the retiring Republican David Vitter.
