- Seidel was promoted to the rank of General der Flieger (General of the Air).Seidel served for most of World War II as the head of German Air Force organization, armament, maintenance, and supply.
- He was a practical realist who distanced himself from his idealist boss Hans Jeschonnek, Luftwaffe Chief of Staff, an unquestioning follower of Adolf Hitler.
